Is it 5 PM yet? Surviving the 2:30 PM wall

Is it 5 PM yet? Surviving the 2:30 PM wall

Alright, let's be honest. That afternoon slump is brutal. I'm staring at a spreadsheet, but my brain has completely checked out. I know deadlines are looming, but right now, I just need to hit pause.

This is the moment I force myself to **unplug**. And I don't mean scrolling through Instagram under my desk. I mean physically standing up and walking away from the blue light. Whether I'm at my WFH desk or in the office pantry, the ritual of boiling water is my little **workday sanctuary**. Watching the steam rise feels like the only real thing happening today. It’s a total **midday reset** that separates the morning chaos from the afternoon grind.

I usually take my cup to the window or just sit on that one comfortable bench downstairs if the weather is nice. I’m not thinking about the email I need to write. I’m just holding the warm mug. It doesn't even matter what kind of tea it is—it's just about the warmth and the stillness. That quiet five minutes allows me to **recharge** better than a third shot of espresso ever could. It’s about giving my mind permission to be offline, just for a moment.

"Anyway, the Slack notifications are starting to ding again. Time to get back to it. Hope you find your own little quiet corner today."
